2011 - 2012 Tournament Schedule
The team attends between most local central Texas tournaments. In addition, based on interest and coaching availability, the team may attend out of town national tournaments in Lubbock, El Paso, Houston, and Dallas.
All tournament participation is voluntary. Every wrestler who wants to enter tournaments will wrestle (no tryouts). Tournament officials will group wrestlers by age, weight and experience. You must check-in and prepay for all Tournaments at the Tuesday practice preceeding the event (or earlier for National tournaments).
This season our local tournaments have been split based on experience. Rookie/Novice wrestlers who have less than 2 years experience will compete in different tournaments that the Open wrestlers who have 2 years or more experience. These tournaments will be held in different locations on different dates. The objective is to shorten the amount of time for each tournament to make it a better experience for parents and wrestlers.
The tournament schedule for the 2011 - 2012 season is still being finalized with some dates reserved but no final venue selected. The official tournament schedule will be posted on the Texas USA Wrestling website at: http://txusaw.com . Look under the "Tournament and Results" pulldown for "Youth Tournaments" and select "Central" region.
The following are the tournaments we plan to attend for each experience group. Attendance may be limited based on coaching availability.
